چکیده
Background: Evaluating concomitant injury in patients with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture is important for predicting long-term results. Meniscofemoral (MFL) has been observed arthroscopic evaluation ruptured ACL. Objectives: The objective of this study was to investigate the meniscofemoral ligaments ruptures via magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Methods: A total 200 (with ACL, n = 100; intact 100) were retrospectively evaluated MRI. In group ACL; who diagnosed as having noncontact ACL injuries and had undergone primary reconstructions included. control included 100 suspected (from a similar mechanism) whose MRI revealed an time from evaluated. comparison presence MFL (aMFL) posterior (pMFL) between two groups Results: group, significantly lower aMFL or pMFL compared (P 0.001). higher absent defined relative other Conclusions: We absence MFLs (aMFL pMFL) significant majority ACLs. Furthermore, we found relationship group.

noninvasive tool that can aid in the evaluation of the entire spectrum of internal derangements of the knee. Although the cost varies considerably across the country, the average cost of knee MRI is on the order of several hundred to more than a thousand dollars. The noninvasiveness of MRI combined with its relatively low cost have led to its acceptance by the orthopaedic community, and MRI of ...

A 24 year old otherwise healthy male was presented with a chief complaint of giving way in the left knee. MRI reportedcomplete anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tearing. Arthroscopy showed ACL agenesis, ring-shaped lateral meniscus, and an anomalous thick band extending from the anterior horn of the lateral meniscus to the intercondylar notch of thelateral femoral condyle, which...
متن کاملAnterior and Posterior Meniscofemoral Ligaments: MRI Evaluation
Although meniscofemoral ligaments are distinct anatomic units, their anatomy and function are controversial from an anatomic and radiologic point of view. Five hundred knee MR examinations were retrospectively studied in an effort to demonstrate the incidence and variations regarding sex and age distribution, as well as the anatomy of the meniscofemoral ligament at magnetic resonance imaging. P...
متن کاملFailure of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
The present review classifies and describes the multifactorial causes of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery failure, concentrating on preventing and resolving such situations. The article particularly focuses on those causes that require ACL revision due to recurrent instability, without neglecting those that affect function or produce persistent pain. Although primary ACL reconstructio...
متن کاملEffect of Custom Molded Functional Brace on Balance in Patients with Anterior Cruciate Ligament Tearing
Background & Aims: Knee joint is a complex structure and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear is one of the most common injuries of it. Anterior cruciate ligament, because of its proprioceptive function, has an important role in balance control and its tearing may tend to balance control deficiency. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of functional brace on the balance in p...
